Film on the Rocks

Film on the rocks is an event that happens several times throughout the summer up at Red Rocks Amphitheater. They always have a fun selection of movies playing through out the summer. Monday we saw Anchorman.

If you live in Colorado this is a must do. Red Rocks is #2 on the list of the top 10 things to do in Colorado. (Even if it wasn’t you should still see it because it really is that awesome.) This event is a great way to get there without paying for a $75+ ticket to a concert. Sure, it’s no concert but believe me the views and the funny movie lines make up for the cost you would pay to listen to Tenacious D in a horrible cloud of, well, marijuana. That’s obviously not my cup of tea, if it’s yours, more power to you. I’ll go this route. It’s such a spectacular place — it really is amazing how such a natural formation can produce some of the most amazing acoustics. Movies always take place on Monday evenings. You can go, bring movie snacks, hang out with friends and then settle back to watch the show. Tickets will run you about $14 per person. The place gets packed! Arrive earlier for better seats! They usually have a decent band playing until dusk when the movie starts.

You know how there are some things that just really scream summer? This is starting to become one of those things. Last year we went and saw the Goonies. This year, Anchorman. Although it was raining for the beginning half of our movie, it just made it feel that much more like a Colorado summer. If you go make sure you plan for weather, if you live here, you know how the weather can be ;).

I’m starting to think any summer is not going to feel complete without a trip to Film on the Rocks.

Keepin’ it Classy – even in the rain!

This weekend I…

Was thrown a surprise birthday party by my hubby and all my bestest friends!!

Relaxed and enjoyed my saturday

What did you do this weekend?

19.8

Inches of snow. That’s how much snow we got last week. That’s … a lot! We enjoyed it though, It’s awesome working from home because I never have to fret about driving to work in the snow. The hubs also has a pretty sweet job in that he’s able to remote access to work whenever the weather is bad. We spent Friday together in the office, working.

Just like Colorado, though, Saturday morning after the snow had ended the sun came out in full force. It got up well into the 40’s and started melting away the snow.

We spent a good portion of the afternoon clearing the drive way.

Dave also had fun “breaking up the snow” on the street with his 4-Runner.

boys will be boys

We  were pet sitting my friends dog for the weekend. She’s no bigger than our cat so it was also fun to watch her try and maneauver her way around in the snow.

19.8 inches of snow was cool. We got another 3 the other night. Colorado’s winter has been pretty dang snowy. I’m ready for spring!

M&M’s

M&M’s had the best Super Bowl commercial this year. In my opinion, anyways. Maybe it’s because I love the little M&M characters, maybe it’s because I love dancing to “I’m sexy and I know it” by LMFAO or maybe it’s because I like eating M&M’s. More than likely it’s all of the above.

For your viewing pleasure

A close runner up was the Volkswagen Beetle commercial with the adorable St. Bernard mix.

This one cracked me up!

What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial this year?
